NMN
Description
Finally. Compound
The anchor compound in every Finally. protocol, and the one the others have nothing to act on without.
What it does
NMN is a direct precursor to NAD+, the coenzyme every cell uses to convert food into usable energy and to run its routine repair. Through perimenopause, declining estrogen is associated with increased activity of the CD38 enzyme, which consumes NAD+. NMN is studied for its role in restoring that pool.
The research
In a 2021 randomized, placebo-controlled trial published in Science, NMN supplementation was studied for its role in raising NAD+ availability and improving insulin sensitivity in muscle tissue in postmenopausal women.
The specifics
